Harder Bosses
Thu 24 Sep 2009, 05:02
I think harder bosses would be a good addition, but keep in mind that one of the big complaints about beta 7 is that hell is nigh impossible to beat. Lets keep in mind what mish said, if you do decide to make more uber bosses cut down on the number of spawned zombies at that time.

Bosses have to be able to kill in about one hit.. the equivalent of having your head hacked off by a bigass axe. Maybe some triggered abilities for good effect thrown in the mix?

Well during a s3rious discuss with s3rius he talked about how fatties would be able to devour you, and your buddies have to save you before you are digested, but he stated that it's pretty OP. I suggested that all the wimmenz were turned into succubi that can cast sleep, also OP. Fatty tossing you into the air and into a tightly clustered group of your friends? GG

I'd like to see fatties have knock-back with a couple second stun...
And when he incapacitates someone, he should get some bloodlust for a time (maybe a victory dance? lol).
I agree... tougher bosses... less spawned during that period.
Any other ideas? =D

I do not think this is really practical...
On a side note, does any know if the virus vile sub mission unlocks anything if you complete it? Perhaps the spawning of a unique weapon, like the sawed of shotgun, would get enabled if all 3 are collected.

As of yet, nothing is unlocked. Some things have been suggested though.Gimli.SoG wrote:

How isn't it practical? I don't see what you mean.
Also... would it be better for fatties to have a % chance to knock-back?...

Yea I know you all are saying .. But Prox You sound like your rooting for the baddies to which I answer. Who says I'm not? and who says I'm not a Boss Monster?

Take a firebat, throw him into a crowd of 7 of his friends. The end result is that he explodes in giant fireball fashion, engulfing everyone in napalm. Don't even think about running, because you'll just burn faster. Not even sprinting to the nearest water source will help.Proxy wrote:Fatty tosses you into a group of your friends like the bowling pins they are.. (Knocks all units down + Dazed) Take that Rines!

Virus Viles
Thu 24 Sep 2009, 15:14
Well one can assume that with samples of the virus, the lab tech gurus will be able to come up with a way to combat the virus. I suggest that the army then drops a gun that has a certain number of charges, say 10 or 15. Each charge has the ability to nullify the virus affects in a certain number of (weaker) zombies. By nullify I mean kill.
Examples would be a ghoul, hunter, parasite, shambler, stalker, human zombie, and maybe even the black zombie.
One other idea would be to make the gun an AoE style gun that damages movement speed and attack damage of the all zombies in the effect radius.

or make it a cloud (like the green cloud or the smoke nade) that would remove human's infection and damage the zombies over time...

if it removes the infection then well they would revert to human except this stage they are pretty much vegetables so they kinda just stand there waiting to be snacks for any hungry zombies that come along

I like those ideas, Gimli/Mishotaki... But like Proxy said, infection removal would make them revert to human form, which I think just doesn't work for the story, and would maybe raise the question, "why not just flood the place with the stuff?" I think once something has turned, there's no turning back...
That is unless you mean "remove infection" as in AoE antidote to non-zombies (human players/NPCs)?
Just my thoughts on that.

If u use an antidote in a zombie doest it hurts it?. I've heard (but dunno if its real) that u can do that, but of course, aint that effective since its better to just blow them up with range haha.
Still, an antidote-based grenade would make them dmg over time, and would be pretty cool (specially for radar tower mission >).
The explanation following the storyline etc, would be that the antidote reverse their cell putrefaction or something like that, making the screwed up organism of the zombie to go mad and dmg the last brain-body functions it still have.

instead of a tanker boss it would be great to see a zombie horde come in from another part of the city. so that if you are alone u WILL get overrun. a group of fast moving zombies like the armoured hound but small/weaker.
also to spruce the map up some police barricades/spikes would be nice
and a side mission of a helicopter crash where u rescue the pilot would be kinda cool
thanks 4 the game s3rius

Every zombie movie that has an antidote to the T-Virus or whatever they call it, the antidote is in a small briefcase that has like 3 or 4 syringes. I would say "flooding the place" would not be a viable option, and is not really what me (and i assume mish) are coming from when I posted the idea for a weapon to be made from the virus samples.

yeah it would be like the first batches for testing in the field...
really... if the virus kills people, then revives them as zombies, removing the virus just gets them back to the dead part....

flooding the city with the anti virus wouldnt be an option. its only been a few hours since the outbreak so how could they create that much anti virus in that amount of time? so that rules out the flooding it question

A briefcase with a few syringes.. hmm gives me an idea... what if after you do a certain mission unlocking this test batch of antidote a boss spawns and can infect the team You have a certain time period that you can cure a person before he becomes a zombie and loses his cognitive functions. We all know that it takes time for a person to become a zombie so if you get them the cure before they waste away then all is well

maybe instead of killing/damaging the zombies the anti virus gun/bomb sends them beserk. attacking each other. bosses would have to be immune though

I was thinking of "flood" as in more of a gas composite of the anti-virus.
Also, if the AV simply turns them back to the "dead" part... isn't a gun more effective at that. Which makes me think of maybe a mission to combine an AV sample with a type of ammo. =o
I like Proxy's idea on it. It seems the most plausible, given the circumstances in the scenario. Good points, DOOM.

liked that idea
I always thought that we needed a time-bsed mission rather than dogs. A mission that if u fail in time then its GG for u.
Another idea i've just got. We all know that the antidoite item its the useless item of all (next to city map). Maybe u could add two kinds of "virus". One like the one we have, that lowers ur hp with DOT...
the second virus could be a virus that activates a timer (30 sec? to make it thrilling). If u dont get antidote in that time, u get transformed into a zombie and GG for u.
That would make ppl think twice when they see an antidote in the floor and shotting at it xD, or leaving it behind..and not depending on a medic to ant them. Moreover, since anti from medic has cooldown, that would mean that if like 4 team members get infected, and u have only one medic, better them having some ants in invt or gg.
What u say?
