First of all: Requests regarding the release date of DotD will be deleted.

This topic is solely for ideas and improvements Wink

One subject I am working on: Which bonus abilities could high-ranked players gain?
For example: When a player reaches the rank of a Sergeant, he gains an ability that allows him to see the number of clips of every player.
Or: A player ranked Captain or above can throw a road flare every few minutes...

Well, it would be a complete copy of AM Wink But something to get your bones back into the right place without a medic might still be useful.
I remember this nice skill ..
Name: Let me see what I can do..
Does: Mends your bones, heals wounds, maybe un-poisons, but costs quite some mana and there is a chance that the patient loses 50% hp or so, since you're like a hobby doctor.

That would be a good idea for the grunt.

How about a war cry? a nice boost of dmg for a short period , maybe 10 secs, (a red message on the head of a high rank, just write something to "encourage" the team)

Does your version have the reload by pressing esc like in the old dotd? Because if you pressed it at the right time you never stopped shooting.

You can't reload with Esc anymore. There's also no glitch for skipping reload time anymore.
I'll add the quick reload to my list.

Ehmm s3rius, there`s something i dont like about the map. There is too much sub-spawning, every zombie u kill.. has something inside, make then revive , or put more zombies and less ghouls they are really annoying +^^

Hehehe, be happy that it's only so few that respawn. The numbers rise with increased difficulty. I think in B3 there are a few more zombies than ghouls now. Hm. Not sure though.

Another question: Is there anything you people want to be saved in the code?
Such as special archievements (special ranks, honors, medals) or anything else.
Note that values such as kill count cannot be saved, since they're simply too big numbers.

In 5.2 there was the gatling, limited for lvl 50 or more players.

In this new version, you can maybe create some items that can only be used by high ranked players : something like a "old, but destructive, gun" that only a veteran can know +smile

You can make too some less powerfull items for middle ranked (or more) players.

For B3, when you play on a higher difficulty there are already new sets of items. So the higher the difficulty is, the better the items you find.
In comparison to some of those items the gatling gun is like a toy gun =)

Maybe the most played class by the player and a way to know this detail for other players, then you can know if the guys is a good medic that play this class already 100 times or if its a noob that play medic first time.

Well, but even if that guy played the game only once and took medic, he'd have medic as his most played class.
Also usually it's being decided who goes medic before the game starts, and there is no way I could let it be displayed then.

i recomend sticking with one load/save system for 6.0 because its so hard to work up the ranks... n its all team play in this one... n most the time your teamates dont work as a team... they get greedy... or you get the random teamkiller(happened to me recently)...

There are various reasons why I have to introduce a "new" save system for one of the next betas. I want more than only the XP to be saved in the code. I hope that the next (big) beta will provide enough new stuff to keep people playing despite loss of their ranks. XP gain will also be increased.

yeah the first beta was so easily exploitable that you could seriously go back there and get a million rank points just by exploiting for a while...

i'm at 2000 and i barely did it by testing ways to exploit as debugging and checking out how it ended...

While playing i came up with a few idea's.. For rank letting higher ranks start off with some differnt items would be nice, gives them that i've been here, done that and now im perpared feeling. aslo maybe open up a few new classes with higher ranks. another good rank passive skill would be able to know where are all players on the mini map. aslo a skill, weapon, or something with "Stay Dead for Crists Sake's" would be nice meaning that once you put the zombie down no ghouls come up. the one thing i think alot of new players are have trouble with are the explosives they dont get early on you need sanchtels (not sure if i spelt that right) to blow them up. so may making it that they can blow up by them selves for a lesser effect or with a sanchtel for chain effect. aslo there are two empty spaces on the map to the upper west and east not sure if you were going to leave that there but ive been able to kite by myself several zombies and just put them down sowly in those areas. Firebats need more range or skill to increase range there almost useless with several other chars since they have to get so close. one problem ive been encountering with is my mini map the top part is cut off till i go discover that area.

Hm I could increase the number of satchels that you find and introduce explosive charges later in the game. That'd make the newbs have satchels mainly.
Items for ranks.. hmm.. the idea is nice, but it might be imba to let pros start with good items and newbs with none.
These large empty spaces are slowly being filled. It is mainly some space to shift buildings around and add new locations for missions.
I'll do some modification to the firebat, I hope he'll be more useful then.
I can't do much about the cut-off area. That is because I've been changing map and camera bounds several times which seems not to be working very well.

another idea which might be nice if you can make is a highway from one spot to another doesnt have to be big 2 lanes. with a couple of exits might help getting around the map alot eaiser. the only problem i would see is what happens when someone goes under and the change in camra might mess people up.

as for the items for ranks i was think more down the lines of starting off with extra ammo. flare gun, med kit. not pro weapons just commonly used items which gives us pros alittle extra edge because of rank

make it so that turrets can be reloaded by putting a clip on them that would greatly help a defence... also... you may want to up the ammo spawn... ammo is used up to much during the late game... and make it so better drops happen later in game cuz it gets really hard... even with the npc chars to help you... the spawns are mad fast
also when "red" kicks someone make it so that the rest of the team gets control over that person... cuz i got TKed n then there were only 2 of us left and we couldnt move the guy or get him more ammo... so we were purdy much screwed... also you should make the rank bonus's larger... and i have an idea for when you rank up it should tell wut the bonus's are that you are getting.
