well, if you find a driver for my "nvidia riva 128zx" for win2k that supports Direct3D, i'd probably able to play wc3... but it more likely that hell freezes over - i haven't found one... Confused

Uh, you really don't get shit for Riva 128 - There's no win2000, but you could try installing the NT driver. Some guy said that might maybe hopefully work ^^

unfortunately, i have tried the nt-driver already... i even tried the TNT driver, but with no luck... i will end up again being only able to view 256 colors... lol

I am going to release a beta version of DotD this weekend.
I just want to finish the sniper and something about the difficulty system. (Medic and Operative are not re-made yet, they are almost the same as in the other versions. All other characters are upgraded now^^)

PS: at gamesite200.com we jumped from place 26 to place 6 in the category "warcraft sites" within the last month Wink Let's do at least the 5th place!!
i do the same myself with Opera... some sites just refuse to work properly on anything else than IE....

I'm looking forward to this week-end then ^_^

btw, what kind of injuries can people suffer from?

btw2: s3rius, if you make a second beta version, well, would be nice if you would consider to put the forum url to your DotD5.3 forum section somewhere in a corner... for concentrated bug reporting and... some promotion for STARS! ^_^

and... i think you should at least add fracture... it requires much more teamplay to cover someone that i fractures. and thats what i really like in such maps!

Well, since DotD is much more camping a fracture won't be such a big deal, except for scout or if you go army (what most lazy bastards never do) ^^

We did some army yesterday. IMHO its more fun than camping.
Maybe you should add a small mode that disables engi but gives more xp or items.

That's the reason I called the Survival mode "Old Style Survival" ^^. I was thinking about making a mode where engi (or at least it's cades) are disables and every marine gets some slight stats buff (+ms, +atk or something). Esclusive items would be a nice idea, too, though.

One little question - what would you prefer about the new save-code system:
1: The old save code will be completely disabled and only new codes will be accepted.
2: The old save code will work, but only give you a small percentage of the xp you had (like ~10%?).
3: The old save code will work, but instead of giving you xp, it will give you small bonuses (e.g. displays you as a dotd veteran if your code was lvl100+).
4: Something else?

A little curiosity: Even though the chance of getting a bone fracture is only 0.5% per hit you still get them quite often.. ^.^ Either bad luck or bad code o.0 xD

@parad0x: yea, once every 200 hits, that's what the simple math says, but in my last game we got like a frac every ~20 hits.

just to mention it, there will be no "new message" symbol in the forum and neither will appear edited post appear in the "recent messages list". Better to make an additional post - i dont consider that as spam at all. Wink

btw, i'd vote for #1 as well. just for the reason that you would have to have two working codes...

for the Frac-issue: well, i dont know your entire code, but be sure that hits from dummies etc dont count as hits as well! Wink

it must be balanced for both sides, the real DotD veterans that will possibly be disappointed of loosing all their exp, and the exp-"cheaters" from the earlier version...

you would need two JASS-systems (and thats actually what i meant with 'codes' in my previous post) - one that reads the old code from 5.2 that gives 10% of the exp and the new 5.3 code that gives normal exp, wont you? of course, just one visible code that you are given after saving, but thats not what i meant... Wink
