yeah but in order to make this idea worth while you need atleast 10-15 differant talk lines for each ranking group to make it worth while to try and do. still a good idea but I wonder if its possible... up to s3r ^^

even if he just adds the number of lines I have suggested, it will still be a good 10 speeches or so, its alot better then *xxx has been promoted to yyy* or nothing at all which is the case in beta 7

I think my explaination was lacking.
What happens at B7 is that you still get your promotion message, but no one apart from you will see it (=everyone will only see his own message).
I did that because it kind of sucked to have to many messages appearing at this point that you often can't see what classes people have selected.

Ahhh thats a good idea s3r ^^ gj on that one ^^ but s3r I still think the general ranks should gain an extra 1-2 exp per kill. in the long rong at MAXIMUM its an extra 500-600 exp which at later ranks might barely give you lvl 12 or 13 depending on how the game has gone... its not really that big of a deal.. considering player exp the faster ranks through 1-4/5 would be understandable.

I might also wanna add that I've changed the hero xp required to level up. The first few levels (~ 1-6) will take a little longer, while the later levels can be reached a lot faster than before.
After finishing the game on NM I got a lvl 14-15 hero. On Hell it'll be 1-2 levels more.

ah ok well there you go I still think Generals should level a bit faster than the rest of the players but I'll be happy with that =p heheh ^^ btw just a question.. do you think the tenticles do 2 much damage on higher difficulties? if they spawn right on top of you.. you WILL take the splash damage and it does like 100-150 damage even though I move right away x.x so annoying lol

you really need to start reading the thread from where you last left off man lol its in-game hero exp. the point is to reward those players with a slight increase of gaining level's faster than people who just joined the game.

once you reached general you only play to help the other ppl to get ranks so a general should be a bit more powerfull than the other ranks :0

you would never help in normal or nightmare with the 15k and under people drag, so dont say "others are fine". To the less experienced nightmare and normal completion is big for them, and would like your help, im hosting most of the day doing nightmares and normals for fun.

What about if you die and your corpse lies around for maybe 5min. Could you then turn into a zombie marine hero and torture your former teammates.
Its better that you cant use your gun anymore, but you can have some crazy zombie skills:
Jump
Phermone Coktail (yeah i know its from Left4Dead)
etc...
Could be funny and your team has to get you out via MEDIVAC or otherwise...^^.

thats actually a good idea.. but maybe not player controlled... just allow you to see your undead hero marine approaching the unsuspecting team lol

random mission idea: (last mission of game)
the scale of the san francisco crisis reaches the point of no return. rather than continue the conflict to take back the sector, the presidency reliquishes control of the situation to the army in an attempt to stop the virus, by any means necissary.
the army declares; "no survivors..."
*DUN DUN DUN!* haha
so basicly i thought that this could only occur as a last mission if colonel white gets killed in action.
the army finally DOES send in the cavalry in the form of a battalion of soldiers and a few armour constructs. all personell from the battalion have been immunised against the virus back at base, and thus they have come to clear all signs of life in the area, beffore withdrawing at which time the whole area is to be sent to hell (shells or nukes doesnt rlly matter, nothing will survive haha)
because the SRT was not immunised pre-entry, the orders are to eliminate all life signs INCLUDING the SRT, hence "no survivors". General Thorn is removed from duty and is replaced by the general of the specialist battalion, who tells the SRT what is happening and that they will be eliminated too (you know, the snide pompous guy that says "you are all going to die haha*manical laughter*)
however, General Thorn gets in touch with the SRT and says that he has organised a transport out of the area in the form of a small helicopter that will slip under the batalions radar. the chopper lands at one of 3 places on the map (Helipad, NE park, SW park)
so it becomes a race against time for the SRT to reach the extraction chopper beffore they get caught in the nuke/shells/whatever, while at the same time they have to navigate among the batalion of hostile soldiers and armour.
(idea was given to me by Lost Cause in NOTD, and also the fact that the Demolitions soldier has an Anti-Tank missle that barely gets used on Armour lol)
