Death of Misho-HOST

I am very sad to announce this, but it has come to it: i will have to shut down the hosting bot....

as i am jobless, i cannot afford to keep up with the costs that it ensues...

i'll have to downgrade my internet connection, lowering my available bandwith limit for the month, as the bot takes about 20-30 gigs of upload a month and the electricity bill of keeping the computer on 24/7.... i have to cut somewhere that i never expected to have to....

so, as my internet connection will be downgraded on the first of october, i will take the bot down until i can afford to pay all my bills and get back my higher-tier connection...

I will also keep Misho-BOT offline when my computer isn't on...

A sad day indeed...

solution: have people host themselves?

stop being lazy and open your firewall ports!

the clan will still be 130 people that love playing the game... and i'm sure that among those 130 players, there is at least a handful of them that can host...

rely on many persons rather than a single one.... it hurts a LOT LESS if you lose one person than if you lose me.... that's what it should be...

Indeed it is a gaming clan dedicated to the eradication of Zombie folk. Besides it's not that hard to host The clan is still here just no misho host spreading the joy 24/7 all is still fine.

Dude Im just sayin that you shuldnt leave ur comp on at night. None ever plays at night...

Define 'night' though? With all the various time zones, the idea of night is relative- theres more than a couple that'd be playing while I'm tucked away in my bunk

he should base it on East time, have the bot on from noon to midnight

maybe post a Tutorial on how to open ports and hosting games ??... also posting some autorefreshers etc

And one of our Clan members (safer) has a bot hosting DOTD online =)

I gotta laugh at the thought of trying to post tutorials for opening ports. With soooooooo many router manufacturers out there and they each do it differently there is just going to be a mass of whining people saying "HLPZ PLZ" and then you gotta smack them and tell them to speak english ... its just a mess

there is so many tutorials online that you can find pretty easily if you search for them.... even specific ones exactly for every routers....

if you fail at googling, how can we expect you to manage to open ports? it's an operation wich asks you to type in numbers into boxes, it's basically HARDER than typing your question into google!

well, i'm in bed before that... so i can't really close the bot when i'm already sleeping...
and the fact that there is still games going on and that the games only stop being popular at about 3AM makes it even later to shut down the bot...

but my biggest problem right now is more bandwith than electricity... i'll have to drastically change my surfing habits with the change so that i don't have to pay extra because of the lower quantity i'll have available every month...

Personal finances are of course more important than clan issues.

Others will have to fill in to close the gap.

Wouldn't have thought that it needs so much upload, though... to upload 20 gigs I need to have my connection running for 3 1/2 days at max speed

Lol misho... some people need just too much help ^^ i've learned that being part of lots of communities... its not a matter of "pc skills"...its a matter of brain skills lol. And lots of people fail at that ^^
