Do you think the name is good?
Urban Strategy

I am making this map called Urban Strategy and it is a modern cityfight map with a lots of units and tanks.
this is how it goes:
Terrain: 99% done
Triggers: 90% done
Units: 95% done
Balancing 50% done
Dodads: 80%done
Tings to do:
Unit balancing.
Write credits.
Add a few more units.
put out a few more dodads

You know whats funny? This is your first map (if you didnt lie ) and you protected it. I use the WE since 1-3 Years and still don't know how to do that. Well maybe because nobody want to tell me how??

oh, there is also a simple trick with an imported textdocument... but i duno where i once read that... but anyway thats just an easy "protection" that prevents ppl to view triggers...

Woo, i've played this map, it's good. Quite annoying some of the build times though >.<

I know about the building times and everything i will fix the balancing later now i am making terrain and fix bugs with units and stuff. and triggers are always welcome if you know how to make em. Btw everyone i will upload a new version later couse the one you can download now is pretty old xD.
PS: if anyone knows a program to make backgrounds please tell me.
Bad News: the map have already reached 3.4mb so it wont be as much units as planned =(.
If you want to help with anything these are what i need:
Somone who can do triggers.
If anyone wanna make a little terrain its ok just pm me

what you mean with background btw? loadingscreens? then i could help ofc!
and if you want i could try to do some terrain. i say 'try' because i duno if WE will crash. i terrained DOTDS already but lately i crashed always cz the mapsize was epic. if your map is smaller it could probably work.

btw, here is my suggestion for the wc3mappreview image. i changed your wanted black BG into a black foreground, heh.
uhm, hope you dont mind if i post the preview here, just want to know if you think this is acceptable for u...
i finished most of terrain already (i can tell you crashes right then when you try to save are really, really annoying ^^ ). ill do some triggers mb now or tomorrow. and the LS ofc ;)
i optimized some texture-filesizes so i got 200kb more space but i think i will remove the model you offered (death god model) to have space for the loadscreen.

btw, evil, i have a question relating the control points. there are 3 altogether, right?
0 CP means you get 0/min
1 CP means you get 50/min
2 CP's means you get 100/min
3 CP's means you get 200/min
and i will place 3 control points anywhere on the map. or you want them to be somewhere special?
and something related the custom item: you want that only 1 exists on the map, right? so that only the player whose hero carries it, can research. what if the hero dies while research is running and should the item then simply be dropped where he died or should it get 'beamed' to the location where it can be found at start?

like if you have two 50g/min cps and one 100G/min cp u get 200gold/min / 2x50 + 1x100. i will place some controll points myself, but i will make it that you can add and remove them like you want... ill work with an array variable :p
and the terrain isnt 100% complete, some doodads are missing... you have to wait a little more...

another question: how many players you want on the map?
there are atm 4 players activated but player 4 doesnt have a base yet...
so you want me to make a base also for player 4? and what about the rest of the players?

Well to able to build wall is a cool ideal sath, maybe i add that.
and btw i was thinking of a 8 plyer map, it was 4 ppl couse i didnt have enough space for them yet.
but sunny if you are done with your stuff i can fix the player locations myself.

good. i think i will be ready with the map tomorrow...
btw, the only way i think how i can solve the research thing with the item is following:
when you get the item, a timer will start (240 sec). when it expires, then you have the ability researched. if the unit dies or you loose the item before the timer reaches 0, then its interrupted and you have to start again on 240 secs if you get the item again.
btw, would it be ok, if i make it that only heroes can pick up items?
also do you mind giving me some freedom to import some things for terrain? i promise the filesize wont grow that much. ^^ mb i can delete sth that doesnt fit that much, or is there something you really will need? (of the terrain models, like the building and such things)

Well sunny you have a lot of freedom but i recomend you use this program to shrink the skin and image sizes

btw u have to extract them and then reinject them to map but sath said it will shrink the image and skin size by 80% (i think)
so try that first if else remove things that dont fit in like weaponry.
it would be cool if you make walls and gates that can be opened

This trick also degrade quality of texture ... but at 70% its nice
