But do weapons that, for example, can only be used by assaultman, spawn if there's nobody playing that class? If they do, could they not? Instead of weapons that nobody needs there could be other stuff spawning

Class-specific weapons are still spawning, even if the particular class is not taken.
If you find a flamethrower and have no firebat, you're unlucky.
Since all the class-specific items spawn at once, I don't see a problem here.

Most of these items are tech level 2. That means they spawn in about the middle of the game (in Normal difficulty), but they do spawn everytime.
The XM-9 and the high-explosive are tech level 4. These items don't spawn in Normal anymore, but only in Nightmare or Hell mode.

That'd be the Flechette rounds for the new ammo modifier, apparently they stun AND crit AND add more damage that High Explosive Incendiary rounds, so they're like JHP Uranium High Explosive Rounds except that don't set people on fire. The Pancor Jackhammer is also a real life weapon! It's more badass than the AA-12, even though both are 12 gauge fully automatic shotguns.

Was reading into the Colt's description- it mentions it being a semi-automatic bolt-action rifle. I may be mistaken, but I didn't think Bolt-Action rifles could be semi-automatic (hence the military separation of BASR vs SASR)

Yea, yea, the good old semi-automatic bolt-action rifle.. will change that tooltip.
