Hero/Ability/Item Ideas

Since my imagination is not to good, I can always used ideas for Heroes/Items/Abilities for the map. The races for the heroes are Human, Undead, Orc and Nightelf.

Blood Dagger
You smear a bit of your own blood (15hp loss) on the daggers blade and
every enemy you'll hit within the next 30seconds will receive
continously bleeding wounds (like 5hp/s)
Psionic Cage
Releases a powerful Psionic missile which seeks targets with mana and
deals great damage. But there is a chance that the missile also turns
against you and other allied units with mana.
Vampiric Roots
Roots shoot out of the ground damaging the targeted unit. If the unit
dies due to the roots it gets dragged under the earth and transformed
into energy allowing the roots to choose another target nearby.
Unholy Orb
Drains the targeted units health (like 10hp/s) but increases movement
speed, attack speed, damage, armor. etc of that unit. After a certain
amount of time or if the target's health becomes lower than 30 the
spell effects wear off. After that there is a small chance that the
unit dies due to the unholy energy that streamed through his body.
Fireworks Rocket
Launches a big, red rocket into the air. The missile doesn't do sh*t,
but everyone nearby (who obviously have never seen this modern
technology before) are like stunned by the view. 60% reduced attack
speed for everyone except of you. (only works if you're making a map
based on medival story
A dragon's lobe of the lung
Releases a haze of fire upon the enemies infront of you. All hit
targets start burning and everyone who comes too close to a burning one
could ignite too.
Healing Ward
Every friendly unit that gets a hit in range of the ward has a chance to be healed. Lasts 30 seconds.
Chaos Mana Stone
Recharges the complete mana of a target, but the percentage of recharged mana will be subtracted from the targets health.
Phew, edited like 10 times
Sheep Skin
Cloaks the user as a sheep. If it attacks, gets attacked or casts a
spell he will transform back. As a sheep he will not be recognized by
all enemies without true sight.
Wolf in sheep skin
Releases a little sheep from your inventory. You can control the sheep
and it behaves/looks like the one in the ability above. But when it
comes close to an enemy or if it gets attacked it transforms into a
ferocious black wolf that disappears after 15 seconds - but until then
slaughters alot. (very interesting when you play PvP )
Unknown Gemstone
When used it casts a random skill at the target. With a bit bad luck it
could also be a healing spell. Also the mana costs are randomly chosen
between 5 and 100 or sometihng.
Sharp Blade
When the user attacks an enemy who is below 20% health the weapon gives
you a chance to deal 3x your normal damage (a.k.a. (passive) Execute
for all those wow players out there)
I once made this list of items for some guy on thehelper. More or less all of them require triggers ^^

hey, almost forgot i wanted to reply to this thread ^_^ here are a few additional ideas:
Items:
- Thief's gauntlet: Steals a (random?) item of the targeted hero.
- Thief's dagger: chance to steal gold on attack. eventually +agility, +(attk-) speed.
- Mana Cuirass: +defense, restores mana when using a spell but constantly drains mana
- Talisman of inversion: targets an enemy, hp and mana of target and own hero gets swapped.
Abilities:
- Voodoo puppet: Targets an allied or enemy hero/unit and generates a voodoo puppet that is linked to the target. all damage/heal the voodoo puppet recieves is dealt/given to the target. puppet disappears after some time.
- Summon morphling. the morphling lasts for ? seconds. everytime the morphling attacks an enemy, it transforms into the attacked enemy also with the enemies hp/mana.
- Soul transformer: targets only normal units, instantly kills the unit and creates at this spot a soul-item that restores mana or hp when someone takes it up (acts like a rune basically).
- Divine afflatus: reveals map or enemy heroes on the map
- Mortal breath: sends a venomous, very slow moving cloud on the way. all units coming nearby the clouds loose constantly hp.

No ideas for specific spells. but a shop where you can purchase custom spells would be cool.

The Ability ID of that spell is AIDS. Usually they're like A000, A001. Nothing more to it^^

Uhm, that thread has nothing to with dotd. It is meant for spell ideas for paradox's Take the Castle map.

Aww, I was hoping for a new idea. Although I haven't worked on the map for like 6 months. But I will finish it one day.

I'm sorry but do people not read what they are posting to? like... RIGHT above Achiiies post it has s3r saying its not a DotD thread lol either way Parad0x have you tried to work on the map at all? I'd actually be kinda interested to see what you've got done so far

Yeah, I have the terrain almost done and the basic triggers for the game to work. I think I was in the middl of adding items, heroes and units and trying to balance it all out when I quit doing it.

Acctually, that was a lie. I now remember why I quit working on it. Wheever I start a game of any kind, my computer gets laggspikes which is bloody annoying. And it also happen in the world editor.
So until I get a new computer/find out what is wrong I won't do any more work on it.
I might be open to someone else taking over the map if I still have some say in its development.

I guess you already tried the standard stuff such as updating graphic cards divers, directX and so on.
Maybe you got any background programs running (anti-virus programs such as Avira can cause horrible lags because they scan through all written data) or a tool that cleans RAM or harddisk (such as O&O defrag or any RAM optimizers).
You might wanna check your Task Manager when running a game whether any program uses up a lot of system space or cpu-power..
