Me (Evil-Pidgeon) and Muhahahahaaa is going to make a map based on the
end of DOTD the movie. and we would like you all to donate to uss so we
can continue this project! (joke) here is how the map is gona be!
------------------------------------------------------------------
History:
You have made it here all your way from the main island and thought you
would be saved, BUT no you started to realize that you are trapped on a
zombie filled island. You diecide to set up a camp and wait for the
zombies to stop coming,,,
------------------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay: You have to set up a simple
base first somewhere on the island, then you have to find materials to
further defending your base, you have to split into two groups... one that defend your camp and one group that search for stuff.
It will be a little like Troll tribes maps
with item combining and such! and dotd with the zombies coming and jurasic park,
------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment its planed that it will be a radiation meter so when the
meter goes to 100 you will eventualy die, Or somthing worse...

How about "The island of hell" ?, as map name.

This map sounds great pidgeon, if I just new more about creating maps I could have helped you, well I could come with ideas that's all I guess.

nice screenshots with some nice terrain effects! the waterfall f.e... :)

but i personally wont use blizzard cliffs at least for the beach area... i would instead use the lower/rise tool to make a smooth transition.

okay thanks for the tip sunny.

Here is how it is, i need as many names as possible from surviors in the movie =)

and if you feel like it sunny you can make a preview and a loading screen for the map, ofc with dotd theme!

hm.... as far as i can remember, only 3 persons survived...

Ana (the main character), Kenneth (the policeman) and Nicole (huh, what did she do anyway? lol. it was the woman that wanted to save the dog from the other house when they send it to give the ammo-shop dude food). Michael was the one who stays behind in the end scene...

and of course, ill help you out with the preview and the LS (i will make the lowest filesize until you say something other) Smile

What about the woman from the start of the movie with husband got
zombified? anyway all names even those whi died i want names from couse
i need at least 10 names, and yhea thanks for making ls and ps :)

And how do you make many quests active at one, couse i can only see
mark last created quest as complete, how do i specify a specific quest,
a variable? then how do i apply the quest to a quest variable?



I need help with a trigger too.

Its like this, a item is in a certain region, then move it to random place in another region

This is to prevent items to get stuck in certain places like water and forests were they can't be picked up.

you have to send me the map or i cant do anything. we should not use the names of the filmm because the most are dead Razz.
what about the classes? i thought about 3 main classes like heavy armored units, light armored and non armored. then you can choose classes like engi and so on. heavy armored slow high firepower etc.

maybe we are just marines, who survived on the island. and one quest will be to protect the survivors of the film.

if you want to hear my opinion, i wont use marines... it sounded much better when i heard that you want to use the normal dotd-character. like they have weapons like shotgun (the policeman), pistol or something. and they can find stuff on the island to defend themself (like they found chainsaws for the bus, hehe)

@Evil: the woman you mean is actually Ana. Wink

and if you still need names (got them from wiki page. dont know who all of them are from the movie) :

-Andre
-Steve
-CJ ("leader" of the 3 guardsmen from the mall)
-Terry
-Bart
-Norma
-Monica
-Glen
-Andy (Sniper from the ammo-shop that always communicates with the blackboard)

although muha is ofc right - the most of them are dead in the end of the movie Mr. Green

hmm how about making their own waepons, harvest some wood to make bows etc Razz
and after taking some items you get differnt class, but there must be a minigun or something like that too.
shall we do more like zombiehunter, 1 hit and down ?!would be more interesting, dotd is boring too much life.

for a map like yours that would be the better way, yes. one to three shots for a kill (making it more interesting, 3 shots with the normal pistol. but there could be a chance of 40% to kill instantly with a headshot. one shot with shotgun ofc ^^ )

if you are really tough, you can make a hit-system. like that you sometimes shoot the legs and the zombie stops or is slowed down for a short time... whatever ;)

with having 1 shot = 1 kill you should also have fast zombies (like in the movie) or otherwise it wont be... scary to run around the island ^^

and yes, be creative with the weapons... dynamite, chainsaw, baseball bat (rofl), various guns and rifles... whatever you could find on an inhabited island...

Well i need help with three things

someone tell me how to have many quest active... couse in trigger
editor i can only have mark last created quest as complete how do i
choose? variable? someone please tell me.

and secon a trigger that makes when an item is in a certain region it gets moved to another region.

and yhea we will have diffrent weapons than the usual guns and everything we will have like chainsaw and such.

How to make a thing where you can choose betwen yes and no to accept
quest. like a small windom in middle of screen where there is yes or no
i have seen these but dunno how to make

i tested but will this work?

eek the website isnt yellow, dude! ^^

1) store the quest - when created - in a quest variable. that way you can edit or make it solved later.

2) do you mean when an item is dropped in a specific region? otherwise i would say you would need an periodic event and a boolean condition to check if region contains item or something...

3) well, writing a whole tutorial is nonsense as there are already some existing ^^ . for example check out here:

basically, you can create your dialog at the beginning on your map (but dont show them). and when its needed (unit in range) you simply show the dialog to the owner of triggering unit.

btw your trigger wont work. you have to split it up:

map init >> create dialog
unit in range >> show dialog
dialog button clicked >> if button yes, then give quest

update. well, i realized i actually need a map-name that i have to put on the preview and the loadscreen. o.0

anyway, here is a preview of what i thought (have also a version without glowing eyes - i can change almost all yet, so if you have any suggestions...)

You know, zombies can be stopped with axe blows to the head, chainsaw attacks to the neck, shotgun blasts to the face, and stakes driven through their chests.
The interesting thing is that all of these methods work on normal people, so there`s no need to learn a new set of skills.

@asgard: hm... i havent used mach quality on the jpg preview version. it appears darker than it actually is. but as i think about it now... i have to make it a little brighter as im also use lower quality in the .blp version ^^

@evil: "atm i think" is not solid enough - tell me once you decided finally. ;)

EDIT: well, im rather surprised, but the full loadingscreen will only take 80kb in size ^^ - if you think the quality in the screeny below is enough though... (its in 800x600 resolution)

yhea it cool sunny, but its squares at some places at the big head that looks weird, could you maybe smooth them out?

anyway today i will send you the map muhahahahaaa.

i have written a "to do" in the triggers but they are like sugestions
only. i will send you the map to
