STarcraft 2 maps

Anyone have any idea where the actual custom maps are such as the ones you download from others. Just wondering because it's not easy to find like War3.

you have to use the filter when you are in the menu custom game , 'join custom' or 'create custom' something like this.

No no I don't mean in game I mean the actual location where those maps are stored.

oh? good question it used to be in app-data on beta but now i cant found them ...

EDIT. So I found out that you can save a map anywhere drag and drop it on your sc2 shortcut to play it solo. If you wish to play it on Bnet with your friends though you would have to publish it to Bnet through the editor.. =/ I really hope Blizzard fixes this *** that activision has created.

Well i do wonder it too that there's official thread or forums where virus free custom maps can be downloaded? Even the official map and updates, are there official site to download?

Nah There arent any official sites there are however, sites you can download maps from.

I think maps are generally placed in C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\

But their names are changed into hash sums, so you can't identify them until you're using a tool like a Map Browser: http://www.clanttg.com/index.php?/topic/45-sc2-map-browser/

Exactly. Enough said. Either way you can download and play maps by yourself but You can't play them online unless you publish them through the editor.

thank s3rius i guess now i know where those maps i should put

I'm not for sure so don't quote me on this but I think it's only temporary?
