Yeah, well I didn't mean christian god specificly. To me it would seem that proving some kinda god proves all gods, because in the end they're all kinda the same.
And by "the perfect creature" I didn't mean something all good, more like something complete, and devil represents the evil side of the christianitys perfect creature, as their "god" is the good side. Also this pops up some similarities to those balance-thing religions, further prooving the similarity of all gods and religions.

There are a few non-christian sources, which reference to someone called Christus or Chrestos, or a person who was called King of the Jews.
But a lot of these carry false information. There's a good chance that Jesus existed, but whether the stories about his life and deeds are correct is unknown.
Most balance-thing religions don't feature a God, btw^^ Ofc you can think of your God however you like and don't have to be bound to existing religions, but that makes it even harder to prove/disprove anything^^

Yeah we should start this by defining god in general. I think we're messing christian god, other gods, and godly powers here.s3rius wrote:

I myself have been refering to any higher power by the word god. Those aren't always some kinda character, and these ballance religions also feature some higher power.
Also we don't need to wonder wether Jesus existed, because i has been scientificly proven (isn't that what all atheists want ) It had something to do with references to historians of that time. Anyway even proving he did/didn't do all the stuff in the bible won't prove anything about god; not christian god or especially any other god.

1: the whole adam and eve thing. the bible states that god created adam and
eve first, but fossil records clearly show that things where on the earth be
for humans.
I feel we might as well start at the beginning For one thing anybody who actually listens to any teachings of Christianity knows that the Animals were indeed there first. We might get some false information from biased sources and take them to be true but we should always investigate the source before we take it to be true ^^.
The Concept of God is very open but... In the words of Steven Colbert; "I care not be you muslim, jew, or Hindu, I believe there are infinite paths to the one and Only God" lol ^^
Its something you really in the end just have to believe... the other thing is that if you Believe in ONE you have to believe in the OTHER, so if you think Satan is real, you would also think GOD exists. That ends a lot of discussions right there because for some reason everybody wants to believe in the Devil but not in God. They Co-Exist

Gotta say I agree with Colbert, if I come to the conclucion that there is some kind of god.
Good point about the co-existance. It's ture many people specificly say they don't belive in god, but leave this whole satan aspect open. Atheists of course think that all higher powers are bullshit, but for example satan's worshipers try to deny the christian god and at the same time worship his evil side. I think that's rather pathetic, and they don't really shock people because they worship evil, but actually worship evil cause they want to shock people.
But from there we get to this aspect: what if "normal" religions (those who worship good) started when people wanted to shock people by worshiping even something, instead of prevealing idea of worshiping nothing. Kinda hard to prove there's ever been that kind of prevealing idea, since religion seems to have been formed in almost every civilization. On the other hand a lot of other theories presume that religions start by something else than by a divine power, but still that only proves that if there's a god, we don't really know about him, just pretend to. I think religions spread because they're given to people, and it's the same thing with atheism.
That's why I'd love to see a sociological experiment where people will or won't form their own religion on their own, without influence from others already religious or atheistic, but that's not really within the limits of realism.
I think the original question in this thread was meant to be "Is the christian god real" but I don't think that really covers the whole topic of some god's/higher powers' existance.
I say we the abandon bible as reference, for it has lot of contradictions, and only has info about the christian/jewish god, and instead focus on the general existance of anything divine, because "I believe there are infinite paths to god"
