Help with Harddisk attachment
Wed 14 May 2008, 09:46
[EDIT: Split Topic]
Oh, btw, does anyone have experience with installation of a harddisk? Well, I wanted to have my old disk also connected on this computer and I put all wires (PIN and power) and the jumper is removed (slave). But I still have only half of the capacity available...
+cry

Congrats^^
Mh, I don't know almost nothing about harddisks. Maybe there's something in the BIOS that helps? And make sure that removing the jumper sets the drive to slave, if you haven't done so already. Different drives got different settings for that, afaik.

Well I have some "Decent" kowladge of hdds.
And these days you don't have to move that "jumper" Just choose wich hdd to boot from in the bios. And Look if you can maybe partitonate that missing space into a partition. Also look (if you have an installation disk) if the installer detects the lost space. If it doesn't it might have been damaged. (Happend to me once.)
Though this has absolutley nothing to do with The Risen

Muchas gracias, the hint with the partioning was a good one. It detected only the C partition and left the D as unused space. PartitionMagic solved this issue pretty quickly. ^_^ Thanks to both of you for the ideas.
Uha... *cough* yea, that was my last post offtopic here.
