I will soon buy a new computer so I can run a Dedicated on my old one when I get my new one.
The specs of the old one is
2.2ghz amd 64 3500+
1gb ram
nvidia gforce 6600 (Though graphics dont matter when hosting dedicated)
8mb/s net

i didnt forget the discussion, but i cant participate myself, my education consumes that much money, so i barely getting by even with my one and a half jobs i have...

would be great if you can manage to get that project running and find people that actually want to pay a little (the more the less costs for the single person of course, just to mention). I will support you with all i can do through the forums (includes advertisement, place in search engines and directories etc...). Later, i can and will participate and contribute money as well.

PS: great idea if you could offer your computer as dedicated server, Lis.

It wont be the best server but it will probably the best we can get for free. It will probably not be able to be running 24/7 but at least a lot.
And I might sell it to afford a better one, but at least its the best idea at the moment.

what about google ads? However there are some specific rules about google ads so if we get that we better not spam the ads because that will result to back to square 1. Trust me I've earned some on it but I have seen a lot spam it and that will result in either your mail getting banned(I.e not allowed to use it anymore as google adsense account).
I am already running game servers on my pc's so sorry I cannot help you on this one guys .

It all depends on how many views/ clicks on the ads we get. But yes we could make some € per month, now if I remember correctly you have to "save up" 500$ before you can have them paid out I think it was that much, so yes it will take awhile to do that.

Well, I guess only 1 click per day pfor every IP is possible.

it all depends how much the server cost at month and how many money each click does ect.

Well clicking like crazy will get you banned from google-ads so my suggestion is not to do that . Also posting on the board to click is not allowed also. 1 click gives about 1 dollar if I remember correctly. Could be more or less, it all depends on how unique the click is. Not sure exact on the calculation on it.

Don find some info about it. (and ofcause it depends on how many times you click). we can sure use it.. but we must all be sure wich we server we should have.
