--= Redevelopment of the clan page =--

alright, i had some ideas what could be done to keep this nice site alive, and i thought we should expand the list of online games we support. at the moment we were fixed to wc3/dotd and we could add several other parts to our page and try to become a small game community in general. we still keep wc3 section, no question, and especially the dotd feeling. im planing to reorganize the page entirely after i know what exactly you guys want.

and to find that out, you can reply here with your suggestions of online games that you currently play, you plan to play in future or just a game you like. we could expand our clan SBS to those other games as well, probably still as a clan that prefers all kind of zombie-related game stuff xD

im starting right now with suggesting CSS. it has a large community and players and has a large variety of mods that makes it even more interesting for our site. we also can keep our dotd-tradition as css offers a zombie-mod that is, i think, pretty popular.

tell me what you think about that and if possible give some suggestions for games. the more ppl reply the better

(omg, its horror to write on that old computer, lol. the letters appear always with a half-second delay on the screen ^^ )

I want 1.6 I'm able to play Source but just at the weekends and i don't really like it (gay aim and the weapons look like children toys....) also i like the wc3 mod much more and hook is always funny to play.

Ahh and i forgot guild wars.

I play Half-Life 2 mods a bit... mostly Empires...

I like the Doom3 modification: Dungeondoom
that is like a mix of Diablo and Doom 3 , lots of Zombies and many more undeads to kill... only single player tough..

ok, hl2 and cs/css as well as dods are in i would say. there are many mods already and for sure more will follow. interesting zombie mods btw, mishotaki.

ill let this thread run a little longer to get as much input as possible.

btw, nice that nobody listed wow yet, xD.

im interested in stalker as well when its finally finished, but unfortunately i have heard bad feedback lately...

btw, if things going well, then we probably could need some people that investigate news for an assigned game and its mods. so we stay up-to-date if something new is released for that games. but thats just an idea yet...

sunny if we go with steam based games we might need to update the clan name.

and i have been thinking about it i think we should go with ..... S.T.A.R.S

also we should update the forum to include to have sections for each game we include

last thing we could get a channel on mirc to make easy talk

ps if we at anytime want our own servers talk to me i know a good server host that do that kind of thing (he is my clan leader in dods)

- have thought as well already if it would be necessary to change clan name. you can speak up if you found a good one. as you said already, it should have S.T.A.R.S in it, so we can keep the wc3 clan name. but we need sth unique though...

- reorganizing forum sections will be done when i exactly know what is needed (in terms of supported games). but i have started already with a rough idea.

- mirc sounds good, although i dont have exp with that. when its time, you can do everything that is needed to get that channel up, if you want. but later, when basic "reconstruction" is finished ^^ same for the server (would that be free btw?)

BTW: added a poll to the first post. please vote all. multiple choice allowed. if you have another game you want to vote for, post it.

I have css on my comp, I just don't play it because I find it to be a pretty boring game. But maybe that is just me...

I've been using mirc for several years now, so I got that covered. I am currently playing a game with a few irc servers that we can use.

oh it has. and it supports mods as well. thats why it is an excellent canditade for our forum as well. feel free to vote for stalker as well. evil, i count your post as a vote for stalker already, yes? :)

hm... as i checked out some facts of that game, i think i will vote for it as well. yes. that would make 2 votes already for now...

ok, i think the vote wont change anymore much. that means the steam games have won.

thats means cs, css, dods, hl2 dm, hl2 and of course wc3 will be the games

within the next days ill try to find a good solution for all the new forum segments.

Hmm.. For Cs:S if someone has/made a server in the past, we could all make it a zombie mod server, and some of us could make maps for it :O

indeed, but i doubt someone has a server here... hm... anyway, maybe there is a way, i have to check that. i know about an pr offer from a server host, that he gives a small css server (12 slots i think) in exchange that a banner of them is included in the homepage and the hp itself must be established well. duno if that offer still exists, but ill check that out as soon i can be back online - would be a german (located - not necessary language ofc) server then...

a little but possible problem i havent considered yet, might be the ping. maybe it was me, but i had bad pings already when being on a server from england. i duno how far the distances can be without a mayor appearance of lag... guess we have to test that out

EDIT: well, i have overlooked that this was only a one year promo action. so its over already =/

EDIT2: btw, for the clan name... do you all think we need a new name? S.T.A.R.S. Beta Squad could still be our name. or we keep SBS for wc3 and have a more general name for the new steam and wc3 community? something like SMG (STARS Multigamers) or something... i have put that temporarily in the headline btw

btw2: dont wonder if the forum sections are moved within the next days, it will be kinda mess until its finished

ye... a double-meaning is always good in my eyes, just like SAS or whatever xD (btw try to find a shortcut of 3 letters that hasnt an alternative meaning in real life. its not that easy as it may sound now - try google three random letters WQO, XPY,...)
