DOTD Human Hunt

So.. this morning i was thinking about it.. and i got the idea of doind a human hunt within DOTD ^_^
I took my alternate (lvl 40 something) and used the title of the post...
We got a full game... people were interested in the concept...
but when we started, even after i said to remove alliances and allies
sight, most of them were easy prey because i could see them... then a
lvl 128 pwned us.. and after you die.. there is nothing to see...
It was a failed experiment.. but funny concept... and you still get xp for marine kills if you're not allied...
You guys ever tried a concept within DOTD that crashed like that?
Well i guess it's why you guys are making a Deathmatch in DOTDS...

hehe i like deathmatch with pple in dotd5.2
man hunt can be a good concept ... but we must fix a maximum for killing a marine which depend of his current rank , as if u kill a low level u get only some exp , and killing a veteran will be more nice for exp gained

the idea to make a deatchmatch map was born in exactly the same situation. and i hope many people like the idea as well.
the pure deatchmatch wont include any missions/waves but will have many different modes to fight each other. will have less imports and therefore much less Megabytes and will have a smaller map-size to grant a smooth run of the map.
if someone has additional ideas for the DM-map, feel free to create a post and share your thoughts. what would be cool, what was bad in similar maps, mode-ideas, etc... if your idea is considered as good, it will make its way into the map.
ill hand out more info about it when i have some ^^. atm the DotD-STARS has priority to finish - as more as the DM will be based on that map.

well i got an idea to stop campers.. if you stop for more than 2 mins, you get a ping on your location ^_^
if you stop for 5 mins, all your enemies will have your vision
if you still aren't moving... hum.. after 10 mins your attack becomes 1-1 and people still see you
well for the DM map, you should be less power per levels than in the
normal game.. at least that the lvl 1's have a certain chance of
guetting you...

yes, in case of balancing, im not exactly sure, how to make it with the huge difference of levels, but i think i will simply disable or at least lower the agility/strength/intelligence points gained per level... that would equal it out pretty good without affecting the spells (so some spells from each rank are still restricted for higher levels, like in the regular DotDS)
and yes, punishment is needed... i thought about . but that made me think of another idea of a mode:
build-mode: two teams, with 1 being engineer in each team. both will build up a base, and after 5 minutes or whatever, a flag will appear in your base. if you get this flag and bring it to somewhere, you won. (or making it you need 2 or 3 flags...). in this mode, camper punishment will be disabled.
just bumping in with some ideas ^^ if ppl think its interesting, maybe it will be included

Yeah there should be a pvp version of the map. That would be great. As for hosting dotd5.2 deathmatches..I did that once but then when they found out I was lvl 140, they all left

heh, we really have to take care of good balancing with the levels...
oh, and king of the hill and control points are a good idea! we could make also a harder mode so zombies will spawn continually to the "hill" so the defenders have it more difficult.
so many modes... ^^
oh btw i thought taking max 1/4 of the DotDS map for the deatchmatch map... what part of the map would be best for DM? hm...

we can hand that out as additional material for interested mappers...
hm... =p... if you want new terrain... oki. well... so anyone that wants can make submissions... but no need to say we need good terrain and lagg-free! keep in mind that we play dotd, so we need many cliffed 'buildings' to go up and hide. tactical use of them is a must! and include points we can use for the different modes we will have as well.
we could start then a vote whats looking best. ill myself participate with a slightly changed and optimized terrain of DotDS ^^
