Mac OS X Problem?
Mon 28 Dec 2009, 13:37
I was trying to play DOTD v6 on my MacBook Pro, but WC3 locks up when I simply select the game. I have tried to join games hosted by Windows XP computers; however, it locks up instantly when I select the game. I tried deleting the game file and having it redownload from the Windows host computer, but as soon as I got to 99% it once again locked up. I have the most recent WC3 patch.
Has anyone had this issue? I tried to search your forum, but had no luck. Thanks.

Unfortunately WC3's support for Macs is limited. The vanilla game works fine, but there are certain things in custom games which make Macs crash/lock up/split.
And it seems that I have used some of these things in DotD, though I don't know what's the culprit.
I don't have a Mac myself, so I can't make it Mac-friendly.
I'm sorry, but you probably won't be able to find a way to play DotD with a Mac.

hum... guys... he's using beta 6 with the latest patch....
beta 6 was using the script stuff that was "fixed" by blizzard, therefore will make any warcraft 3 crash with version 1.24 or newer.... beta 7 was released fast because of that and works with that patch...
so if you wanna play DOTD, play with beta 7, not beta 6...

He also said that he has tried to join hosted games. If it's B6 he's talking about then there's no way anybody could host it (unless you're using a pre-1.24 wc3).
I guess with v6 he means DotD 6 (which is, in fact, the version we're at, right now).
Beat that evidence, Mish !

He said v6. Not Dotd 6 <= There is a difference

Sorry about the confusion. I thought it was assumed that I had downloaded the latest version of the game that is hosted on this site, rather than v5.3.

You know if you force S3R into mapping for the Mac as well... He will make sure that no one survives the map...

Putting the word mutant is redundent .. You can simply just put "Mac Logos"
